FRIDAY NIGHT MEET & GREET
On Friday Night, August 1, 2008, about 20-25 alum attended a Free Event at City Market. From the beginning, there were a ton of hugs and handshakes. Old friends introduced spouses to eachother and talked about old times. After several hours of talking (in the HEAT).... we took it inside and had dinner and drinks together. I even beat a few people up to pay the registration fee on Friday instead of paying the late fee on Saturday. They hit the ATM and got their money in.... just in time.
(For the 20th reunion..... there won't be any last minute opportunities.... gotta register ahead of time!)
SATURDAY NIGHT DINNER AT THE SHELLHOUSE RESTAURANT
A great time was had by ALL at the Shellhouse on Saturday night, August 2, 2008. We had people coming together that haven't seen eachother since we walked down that aisle at the Civic Center in 1990! We know now that we need to open up the meet & greet for the main event early, so that the alum can catch up before the festivities. We had a great buffet dinner (low country boil & pork tenderloin) and many, many drinks! Afterwards, we had a great band (Bucky and Barry), that let us dance the night away!
The award ceremony was a bunch of fun. We gave awards for the FIRST and LAST person to register, most kids, longest married, youngest child, and many more. We're going to have more fun awards for 2010. There was a raffle that helped us raise some money for the 2010 reunion (that will be great for some deposits we have to pay to reserve banquet space). Thanks to all the companies that donated prizes.
